Federal Bankruptcy law requires that before anyone files for bankruptcy they must complete an approved class in Consumer Credit Counseling and before they receive a discharge of debts, they must complete a short course in Debtor Financial Education.

There are many providers of these certifications, which can be completed by telephone, in person or over the internet. A list of approved credit counseling agencies for New Hampshire is available here.
